The Russian Revolution
The economic factors were the main factors contributing to the Revolution, as they resulted in poverty, misery and exploitation of the masses by the nobility.Russia was mainly a highly backward agricultural country before the revolution. The royal family, the nobility and the clergy owned most of the agricultural land. Only between three and ten acres of land was owned by 70% of the peasants. Many of them had to earn their livelihood only 2½ acres land or even less. In addition they had to use primitive tools, implements and methods of cultivation, which were not very productive.

Causes Of WW I
The primary causes of the war: Nationalism, Militarism, Assassination of Franz Ferdinand and the collapse of the alliance system.
3 Main Causes Of The World War 1
*The Assasination of Archduke Ferdinand
Two bullets fired on a Sarajevo street on a sunny June morning in 1914 set in motion a series of events that shaped the world we live in today. World War One, World War Two, the Cold War and its conclusion all trace their origins to the gunshots that interrupted that summer day.
*The rise of Nationalism
Political change swept the world at the end of World War I. Of the many factors that contributed to this turbulence, some of the most notable are the end of many monarchies and the weakening of others; in Europe, the end of the Hapsburg Empire (which was the last remnant of the Holy Roman Empire); the beginning of the end of Colonialism; and perhaps most importantly the rise of two bitterly opposed socialist ideologies.
*The building up of the Military and Aliances

Imperialism Project
It was to show the countries that the Europeans conquered in parts of the Americas, and Africa. It was also to show the divisions of the countries in those continents. We also did it to show the shipping routes and what they traded to each other. I learned how many countries were conquered by various European countries such as Great Britain and Spain. I also learned things they traded such as Gold and Silver. I also learned that Great Britain traded China Opium to get tea because China wouldn't open up for trade with foreign countries and so they traded Opium since the Chinese would get addicted and eventually traded tea. This then led to the Opium Wars and Great Britain won easily.

Karl Marx And Communism
He believed that there was a permanent class struggle between workers and the bosses. He belived that capitalism would destroy the south. The reason why he believed this was due to the fact that he saw 2 great classes in capitalism at war with each other. The first was proletariet or the working class and the second class was the bourgeoisie or the owners of businesses. He belived that that the proletariet would eventually begin a revolution and take over the country. Then they would controll all the businesses.
Karl Marx and The Industrial Revolution
Karl Marx was a Jewish german man who converted to Christianity. Karl was born in Trier. His dad forced the family to become Christian so they could get a job. Karl never believed in God In Karl's other days when he was still young, he was a succesful lawyer. He was the man who created the government system, Communism. How did he develope communism? One of the reasons was the Industrial Revolution. He was totally against the Industrial Revolution. He was sick and tired of the way workers we treated and the thing that children were working in the factories. He wante the people in the factories to be treated fairly and repected. After he died, he ideas and ways were known as Marxism. His ideas influenced a lot of people and even influence nations. These ideas then evolved into communism. So because of the Industrial Revolution Marxism became very popular with nations like China and Russia. Communism overthrowed some governments, and till today communism still exists.Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Nationalism
Nationalism-the desire for national advancement or independence.
I am nationalistic because my 1st loyalty is not to my family nor the government but to my country. What makes me show that im nationalistic is that i want the best of my country,I want my country to be strong and to be respected by the world.Like the acient romans i want my country to be both loved and feared.Itlay Wasnt one country so it had mini states and some of these states were The kingdom of the two sicilies,Papal States venitia, lombardy, piedmont and savoy.
Nationalisam can be both unifying or disunifying. It helped itlay gain freedom.Italy became italy beacause of a guy named Giuseppe Garibaldi and the red shirts united the different parts of Italy.
On the other hand nationalism has torn apart countries.all we need to do is look at the examples of the Ottoman Empire,The Austro-Hungarian Empire,And the Russian Empire.
